Proper handling of GOTS certified organic Cotton.
Our GOTS certified organic cotton is NOT TREATED with fluorocarbon polymers or any other shrinkage resisting chemicals. The fabric is loomed from natural plant fibers and the yarn or threads may naturally contract when wet and machine dried. Therefore, organic cotton can shrink a little in typical heavy duty machine cycles, with toxic laundry detergents, fast spins and high temperature drying.
We request the following care:
(i) Wash clothing in cool/mild warm water.
(ii) Use hypoallergenic, biodegradable laundry detergent and line dry or tumble dry on low-heat setting.
(iii) Avoid bleach, as it makes the cotton fibers brittle.
GOTS certified organic cotton clothing is not delicate.
On the contrary it is quite resilient and will become soft after every wash.
